How I Became a Pirate

I recently read and was enthusiastically asked to re-read the book How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long and craftily illustrated by David Shannon. Mr. Shannon's work as an illustrator is first-rate as is Ms. Long's tale of a boy named Jeremy and his brief stint as a treasure digger under the command of Captain Braidbeard. I commend this work to those of you with children under the age of seven. For those of you over the age of 21 and without kids, skip the book, grab your saber and the nearest cold bottle of champagne!
