Frothy Champagne Prices

Unlike us Pirates, many people out there are paying for their Champagne. Sadly for them, the price is on the rise. According to the London International Vintners Exchange, or Liv-Ex, the increase in market prices for vintage Champagne has outpaced the rate of increase for other treasures, such as Bordeaux. For the 12-month period ending June '08, the Liv-Ex index for Champagne was up 27%, compared with am 8% rise in the overall Liv-Ex index (mainly Bordeaux) and a 14.8% drop in the FTSE 100. Cheers.
