Buried Treasure

A machinery sales manager was digging in a field in England when he hit a treasure trove of gold! Specifically, ancient roman gold coins bearing the likeness of the Rebel Emperor Carausius. Carausius was a Roman naval commander stationed in Britain. When Rome tried to fire him, he declared himself Emperor of Britain and Northern Gaul. Eventually the Romans re-took his Gallic Territories and ultimately Carausius was assassinated by his finance minister during the reconquest of Britain. During his brief reign, Carausius minted coins of gold and silver, only 23 of which were known to exist until today.
